CFSK, Turing Trust and Habitat For Humanity brings Digital Learning to Katangi Ward, Machakos County
Katangi, Machakos County – March 8th, 2024 – Computers For Schools Kenya (CFSK) proudly celebrated a major milestone in its mission to bridge the digital divide in Kenya. In collaboration with The Turing Trust and Habitat For Humanity Kenya, we launched a state-of-the-art computer lab at Katangi Township Primary School. Later that day, we commissioned an additional digital learning facility at Katangi Vocational Training Centre (VTC).

Dr. Tom Musili spoke with passion on the need to embrace technology-driven learning, citing its potential in enhancing educational outcomes and equipping students with essential 21st-century skills. He specifically highlighted the benefits of 3D modeling in revolutionizing vocational training.
Mr. Koome Kiragu underscored the value of collaborative efforts in tackling the digital divide. “By joining forces, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to excel through technology-driven education,” he said.
Government Support and Gratitude
Hon. Robert Basil, recognizing the impact of the projects, pledged his ongoing support. He committed to providing internet connectivity, vital for maximizing the digital labs’ potential. Hon. Felix Ngui and Hon. Dr. Consolata Mutisya reiterated their commitment to champion the Katangi VTC within the Machakos County Government.
Alumni Voices and Appreciation
Representatives of the Katangi Township Primary School Alumni, including CFSK Manager Miriam Ndavi and Josephine, spouse of the Machakos County Deputy Governor expressed heartfelt gratitude for the digital boost to their former school. They reflected on the positive influence their school days had in shaping their successful careers.
